We are thrilled to announce our funding partnership for Break the Cycle with BCM Insurance Company.
BCM Insurance is a mutual insurance company, meaning it is community-based, owned, and operated by its policyholders. It is also a member of the Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA), which has a long history of serving the mutual community. While much has changed over the years, BCM Insurance’s approach to meeting the needs of its policyholders has remained consistent. As they proudly say, “We have been keeping promises since 1880.”
In 1880, Bertie and Willoughby Mutual was formed by a group of farmers who could not find fire insurance at a reasonable cost. They came together to create their own insurance company. In 1898, Clinton Mutual was formed under similar circumstances. These two companies operated independently until 1970, when they amalgamated to form Bertie & Clinton Mutual Insurance Company. In 2018, the company rebranded to BCM Insurance.
Their origins were rooted in a need to serve the community. Continuing this tradition, BCM Insurance launched its Community Grants Program in 2019 to strengthen the capacity of local non-profit organizations so they can continue their important work in Niagara’s communities.
We are honoured to receive this support and partnership from BCM Insurance. This funding will not only help grant Break the Cycle, but will also allow our organization to continue growing and serving more children in our community.
