Check out the 2021 Break the Cycle Recap!

10,000 km on a bike through wind and rain, sun, and all kinds of weather over the course of 2021. A goal to raise $100,000 to help feed kids across Niagara throughout the school year.

Philanthropist at heart, Grant McArthur, friend of Community Crew, decided to take on the challenge. Would he be successful with one goal, or both goals? Only time would tell, and it would take a full year to find out. On December 30th, 2021, Grant officially crossed the finish line in both revenue and kilometers.

The year was filled with challenges, injuries, bad weather, shutdowns, and so much more. Day by day, week over week, month by month, it was consistency that helped push Grant over the goals he set for himself.

“We all need to make an effort to give back and serve our community. Cycling, speaking with people about Community Crew, and raising funds is my way to give back to a program that is close to my heart,” said Grant.

With the support of his sponsors and training team, Grant was able to surpass both his cycling goal and fundraising goal before the end of the year.

When asked about doing another round for 2022, he was on board. This time, he has a team of riders who want to join him in his quest to ride 100,000 km collectively. There is no better way to support a community than doing it with friends.

Break the Cycle 2022 will kick off in February once Grant has had a chance to rest and recuperate. He is looking forward to reaching his new goal.

Ride on, Grant, Ride On!
